The Aquarium of Cattolica is located inside buildings, dating back to the '30s, whose shape recalls a naval fleet. The structure was originally conceived as a seaside holiday camp to accommodate the children of Italians living abroad.
The careful restoration, completed in June 2000, under the surveillance of the Office for the Environmental and Architectural Heritage, has been restored to its former glory and has enhanced the buildings throughout the area, rich in history and maritime traditions.
The aquarium covers an area of 110 thousand square meters, overlooking the sea, fully integrated into the urban net of Cattolica and has ample parking.
In the great outdoor area, freely accessible as a public park (over 49,000 square meters), you will find the following services: relaxation areas, adjacent beach, restaurants, bars, theme shops, green spaces, children's entertainment, shows, exhibitions, cultural events , conferences and sporting events.
